A huge thank you to all of the forum members who posted their insights and shared their wisdom on my pervious post! It is greatly appreciated!
I did take my Nissan to a local auto parts shop. The gentleman very willingly agreed to test the battery and the alternator. He had a very impressive meter/ handheld computer (touchscreen, etc.-) and ran a number of tests. He found the charging voltage was 14.40 and felt this was within the expected levels for my alternator. He commented that the amps were "perhaps a bit lower than expected", but he added that was probably fine given the limited number of electrical accessories on the car.
Overall, he felt battery and alternator were both functioning fine! It is reassuring to know that the old Nissan is good to go!
Thanks again for all of the help! I hope you all have a great evening!
Dave
