The previews seem to demonstrate that the Whovian sense of humor is back and intact. I think the line was "What's your name ? Oh. Hello, and RUN !"
I shall attempt to watch it. Still, the funkiness of the 1970's effects, the acting of Tom Baker, and the writing of Douglas Adams will make that era a tough act to beat.

This Dr.Who season is much more fast-paced than the Tom Baker era, and has less sophistication; they seem like modern day made-for-tv movies.
Albeit, they are fun to watch!

I'll vouch for them. I've seen them and they're good.

My version of the Tardis (ReplayTV) is set!

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Generally, I am repelled by such long and hard hype campaigns... (not yours Newton... SciFi's.).

But I'll give it a watch... er, a Tivo anyway.

I watched the whole series downloading from the internet. GREAT series. Great doctor, great sidekick. One of the best incarations of all. A little too much flash. But stay with it. THe series moves to quite a climax in the last episodes.

No kidding, this is really a terrific show. The second episode (End of the World) is just a TASTE of the really good stuff to come.

I'm really looking forward to hearing/reading what you all think of the show.
