Apple drop refurb MacBook prices??

Just looking over the refurb prices on the AL MacBook refurbs and noticed that the 2.4 with the lighted keyboard is $1299. Am I mistaken or wasn't this just going for $1399 before. I'm looking to buy one for my son and it seems they have lowered the price. Can anyone confirm this or am I just remembering incorrectly. Thanks.

I believe you're right. Go for it. Unless....they lowered the price because of a speed bump-up coming up this Tuesday.

Maybe Firewire 400 is coming back.

The early 2008 Penryn MPB 2.4s had been $1349 for quite a while. The Santa Rosa 2.4s have been less, but I can't remember exactly. Easiest way to discern the difference in the store listings is by hard drive size. Penryns have 200GB.

This list helps tell the difference. By most accounts, the Penryn is around 10% faster even though clock speed is the same. Penryns also have the multi-touch keyboard.
