Researched for quite awhile this afternoon without success.

Some of my pictures have erroneous creation dates. For example some of my pictures of 10 year old grand child have created dates of 1970. I also discovered that a number of my rolls now erroneously have a 6/05/05 date.

At the iPhoto support forums, there are other similar complaints, but I didn't find a cause or solution. Would love to restore the original creation dates, and if that's not possible, at least understand what caused the problem in the first place to avoid a reoccurance. Can anyone help?

Have you tried to restore to original (if you've edited them)? Also, try to open them in Graphic Converter. I did with some photos that I edited, and I can see the original date and time.

I saw the posts in Apple's forums, and looked into it a bit.

I'm getting quite annoyed at iPhoto for these bugs. It's not rocket science that we're talking about...it would be a fundamental issue, IMO.

Also, if you look into iPhoto's folders, you'll see ORIGINAL folders. Open those pictures in Graphic Converter, and you should see the original date.

you will see ORIGINAL folder only with ilife 06...
if you have earlier ilife its much more cryptic..

i got freeware MIANA to change
creation dates to the correct values
there are other 3rd party apps to do the
same thing too..
