Lovely day out on Sunday in the company of friends

:: :: ::

A group of us from another forum meet about three to four times a year, shoot on a public range, and then have lunch together. On Sunday the 26th we were in Southampton, PA, at a range called Classic Pistol. Afterwards, we went for pizza at a place called Maggio's. Frankly, I highly doubt that there was a safer restaurant in the county that day.

I'm sure that you'll have no problem whatsoever spotting me.

Our group shot: [pasig.myphotoalbum.com]

Fun fact: three of us are cops, and two of us are lawyers. Can you spot them?

Did I hit anything?

Well, it was more a day to bring stuff and let others try things of yours that they had never shot before, and to try theirs in turn. With that many people on five lanes, it was pretty tight.

I shot a S&W Model 629 6" barrel in .44 Magnum (think Dirty Harry, but in stainless) and an H&K .45 ACP Tactical (one size down from the HUGE Mk. 23) set up for suppressed fire, aside from a little time on one of my own 9mm pistols and a .40 S&W, the first a S&W, the second a SIG.

The guy in the third picture is happily loading my Ithaca 12 gauge riot gun with 00 buckshot — he just loves stuff that goes *BOOM* and was too lazy to schlep his own shotgun. One of the guys brought a Thompson Contender single-shot pistol in 30/30 Winchester, another an HBAR AR-15 in .223, and a third an AK. Lots of "loud," believe me.

Man, those T-Cs are hand cannons, aren't they? I kinda like the look of the remington XP-100 myself.

Don't look now, dearie, but the grist is already in the mill.

Or didn't you already write this elsewhere?

With so many fatties, it's kind of hard to tell which one is the REAL Tubby … btw, are those his tits hanging all the way down there?

It's pretty damned sad that so much time and so many resources are spent in keeping track of my activities. I wouldn't have said anything here if it weren't for the fact that someone there is keeping me abreast of developments. Really, you do need hobbies.

Half the time, that's the reason I GO to the range... to see what other people bring out.

Trading shooting my AR match rifle for the opportunity to fire an 1888 Long Lever Martini British service rifle in .577/450 is an easy choice....
(Go watch the movie Zulu.. same rifle).

Gonna have to find one of those to buy.....

Looks like you had fun. My poor Makarov is just collecting dust. Seems the nearby ranges around
here keep closing.

The other night I had a dream about a Blue and Gold. It was lying on its back and I was rubbing its tummy. Neat bird. Odd dream.

Please don't tell Precious. She's very possessive.

That was pathetic, Loki. It's bad enough you litter the other forum with your droppings, but this is beyond the pale. CUT IT OUT.

Gun ownership must be fattening.

It *could* be Phillip Seymour Hoffman's next role, but he'd have to really be slumming in order to take it. After the snapping, news reports and his story is detailed ad-nauseum on Dateline NBC, it will most likely be a low-budget made-for-TV affair.

Gee, stating a simple fact that even Bush admits gets pulled? There is no controversy in stating Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Gun ownership is not only a right, but a responsiblity for any true patriot if we take the Declaration of Independence seriously. If stating a fact about Iraq is too controversial for this section then so is gun ownership.

So why did you spam the thread with stuff that belongs on the other side? Wasn't it OT enough to begin with?

The fact that guns are fun and bring people together has not been lost on many cultures. However, guns don't seem to have the same fattening, stupifying effect on these other cultures. Something to ponder?

Fusty always threatens. That's what his guns are for as well. I can't wait til the day he pulls one on an equally well armed nut.I'll enjoy reading about it the next morning.

Loki, once again your stock rises.
