pRON,

1) As far as zippers go, Gene's dream was of a zipperless future. Unfortunately, we mere 20th and 21st century types don't have too many options, and so the costumers often had to use zippers. (There were a few very nicely tailored pieces that didn't use them though-- for example, one was worn by Michelle Forbes in the TNG episode "Ensign Ro", where she removes her tunic to put it on a Bajoran child.)

2) Velcro-- didn't you know, that was invented by Vulcans? winking smiley

I though a trekker was someone who walked through the Himalayas. Aren't you talking about trekkies?

"Man is a little germ that lives on an unimportant rock ball that revolves about a small star at the outskirts of an ordinary galaxy. ... I am absolutely amazed to discover myself on this rock ball rotating around a spherical fire. It's a very odd situation. And the more I look at things I cannot get rid of the feeling that existence is quite weird. -- Alan Watts

davester, some consider "Trekkie" derogatory, prefer "Trekker"

pRON, you must not have gotten my joke... no doubt another Trekkie/Trekker will.

Personally I'd be more interested in the "Gorn" or "Creature from the Black Lagoon" Mask.

or maybe the "Holy Grail"

"Creature from the Black Lagoon" a super Classic, scared the you know what out me when I was a kid.

Boy, I'm amazed that Gorn head is up for sale-- that's something that's essentially priceless, as it's the only one still in existence, and is really now a historical artifact.

Here's a pretty disgusting one:

And I want one of these!:

Okay, I thought the Gorn head was pretty amazing until I saw this one:

The acquisition of this could be the first step towards fulfilling several of my old junior high fantasies

outcast, no, those uniforms are fairly easy to come by (at least, the fan-produced versions are). But as for fulfilling several of my old junior high fantasies, I choose this one:

[cgi.ebay.com]

... when Rachel Bilson wore one of these on The OC (a much better version of it, which better matched the old series), my eyes practically fell out of my head: [www.moviehole.net]

PeterB, that's not just any compression rifle. It's a working compression rifle. You'd think the gov't would buy this to help in the war effort.
