.Mac renewal question
Posted by: iaJim
Date: April 01, 2006 11:03AM
I purchased .Mac at the Apple store yesterday. My renewal date isn't until June 7th. What happens if I register the new number now? Will it extend for a year or start over on the day I enter the new number?

Not sure, but I think I would wait until the renewal date.

You can renew early. I do it early all the time. Then Apple sends me an email the day before the actual renewal date informing me my membership has been renewed. In 2005 I "renewed" in August and my expiration date was in November.

In May of 2005 Apple offered .Mac for $69.99 with free shipping, so I bought it then. This would be about the same price as an eBay purchase (with shipping charges). I'll do it again if they offer the same deal this year.

It won't renew until your year is up. I entered the information at least a month ahead of time last year. As Lyle says, Apple will let you know that your membership is being renewed when the time comes.
