Good for portraits, especially natural light shooting or low light action.

Oops, I forgot to add the standard disclaimer, Nikon D40, D40x, D60, D5000 body users will have to manual focus this lens since it is pin motor dependent. Your cameras do not have a pin motor and you will have to manual focus. Aperture and metering functions still work.

Awesome deal, thanks. I love my 50mm 1.8 and this would be a great addition to that also. One more thing to add, since you added about the manual focusing. If this is on a small frame camera it will be more like a 120mm lens.

Yes, on APS-c or DX as Nikon calls it, the lens shows the field of view of a 127.5mm lens.

It is an 85mm field of view on an FX or 35mm sized chip camera. That would be Nikon D700, D3, D3X.

I hear you man, they have that 85mm 1.4 for $929 refurb and all I can do is sit here and be depressed.

I've seen the 85mm f1.8 as low as $300 on the local craigslist. Personally, I cannot get another prime...I've run out of bag space.

All I ever really needed to know, I learned from watching Star Trek.
