MacBook (and laptops in general) Hard Drives - are bigger drives coming?

I see at the Apple Store I can custom order a MBP with a 120GB (5400 RPM) drive (and you can also up to a 7200 rpm if you stay at 100GB ). Seeing as I'm only using about 88 out of 250 GB, a 100 to 120 GB drive may be big enough for me. But I still like to have some breathing room.

I keep hearing here and there about big advances in laptop HD sizes; so when are we going to see them available to order? I'd like a 160 to 250 GB 2.5" drive in that MBP.

I see this at OWC, so maybe there's hope for my MBP desires:

Stick around 3 or 4 years. I guarantee larger drives by that time.

Didn't you hear, Zoidy?

TUESDAY!!!

But seriously, look back in time and plot out the advances to get a better idea. For instance, 6gb hd was standard with my Pismo in what, spring of '00? From there, drive sizes blew up very large, very quickly. I'd guess...within a year we'll see 200gb on high-end laptops.

160GB available now in the aftermarket.

Fujitsu just announced 200GB by the end of the year.

Actually you need a SATA 2.5" drive in the MacBook Pro or Intel mini.
