3GSers...

I've had my 3GS 'Phone since the first day, and I've just realized this morning that I haven't had one GSM noise/static/buzz RFI problem. Not one.

My 2G was a fairly noise beast, giving off a noise burst every so often for no apparent reason, and with certain evolutions like accessing email, or even getting an incoming text.

None of my other gear has changed, so maybe Apple added some shielding or otherwise changed something in the innards.

Anybody else discover that they're noise free? Anybody getting the same old outbursts that accompanied the 2G?

There’s trouble — it's time to play the sound of my people.

Your boos mean nothing to me, I've seen what you cheer for.

Insisting on your rights without acknowledging your responsibilities isn’t freedom, it’s adolescence.

It depends where I am, but I get a ton of GSM interference. At home I don't hear much in part because my high-end Logitech 5.1 speaker system is well shielded. At work it's an entirely different matter... 2 sets of cheapo computer speakers and my land-line headset pick up all sorts of noise. It's very frustrating, especially during meetings. I literally have to put my phone on the other side of my office so as not to make noise. I really need to put some ferrite beads on my cables.

I have noticed less interference with the 3Gs than the original iPhone. Enough less than I've been wondering if I could finally use my car's tape deck with it, rather than BT -- problem there is that plugging the tape deck cassette adapter jack into the 3Gs causes you to lose microphone capability, effectively turning the iPhone into an iPod. (Is there a line adapter that will separate the microphone from the headphone so as to fix this?) However, the interference is definitely not zero.

I quit getting the noise after the 2nd week with the 3gs, but I get dropped calls at home even with full bars. The other day I called AT&T and it dropped the call 3 times while talking to the rep, he would just call back he didn't say a word about AT&T network dropping calls.

Tmobile with my unlocked 1st generation iPhone gave me way less call problems, it only dropped when the bars dropped. AT&T drops calls at anytime, but I will say I do get good 3g connection almost at all times here in Phoenix and it's fast.

I've never had a problem with my 3G or my 3GS, but I know people who have quite a bit of problem with the original 2G.

I don't think it's the 3g or 3gs, it's the AT&T network.
