F/U to "quicker" digital camera

Well, once the $100 rebate on the Canon Rebel XT hit "the street" my mind was made up.

Thanks to pRon & others for thier valuable input. I settled on the XT. I bought it at Costco for $799 and will be mailing in my $100 rebat soon.

My accessories are starting to float in. I bought the Opteka Battery Pack Grip, Two spare batteries and Remote Switch (for portraits). Now I get to start saving my $$ for a Telephoto lens!

The responsiveness compared to my old Canon A80 is dramatic. I have just taken some shot around the house and some pictures for a real estate project I am working on. So far so good.

I have not played with any manual settings. This camera will be run on full auto for 99.9% of the time.

That's the biggest complaint with my A80, shutter lag.

I bought a 20D from Pam here on the board after Xmas - and let me say this. At a cub scout banquet a couple weeks ago, I was shooting 8 photos in the time the parents around me were shooting one. After the 3rd or 4th burst (a trained dog act), one parent said "what the hell kind of camera is that!" Guess he was a bit frustrated with his pocket point and shoot - he said they were all turning out blurred. I felt sorry for him and emailed him pics of his son at least... :>)

The Rebel is a great investment. Enjoy!

Good Luck!
