I was just thinking about him a few days ago. May he rest in peace.

It's time to pull out my "Dirty Dancing" DVD again, I guess. sad smiley

That's what I was just thinking! I recently got the 20 year anniversary DVD for cheap from Amazon so I might as well put a few miles on it.

Rest in peace.

LOS ANGELES — Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Swayze's publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments...

At first I thought it was the rumor mill again -- it's happened before -- but more news agencies seem to be carrying it: [www.ktnv.com]

Just watched "Ghost" a week or so ago. But for me, I remember him from an obscure episode of M*A*S*H -- he played a soldier who was diagnosed with Lukemia, who refused to leave his buddy at the 4077 to go to Tokyo for treatment. He was quite good in that part, and it's a favorite episode.

And, for a lighter note, RIP Patrick -- here's hoping you and Farley can recreate that Chippendale's skit for the gang up top now.

RIP Patrick.

I actually have never seen Dirty Dancing. I think I'm one of the only people I know who has not seen it, but after seeing Oprah trying to dance that way after the movie came out (before she ever lost any weight), I lost any desire to see the movie.

I was also thinking about Point Break. I enjoyed that movie as well as several others he did.

The movie "Dirty Dancing" isn't really about dancing at all, but you would have had to have gone through the agony of being a teenaged girl to really understand that. smiling smiley

Looks like I'm watching Road House tonight...

I loved Road House, and not just because he had a thing for old Buick nailhead Rivieras.

I think the coolest thing about him was that he used martial arts and ballroom dancing with his wife Lisa as ways to stay in shape. They were professional caliber ballroom competitors IIRC. I think that in the SNL episode where he did the Chippendale skit with Farley, he opened the show, and his monologue was actually a ballroom dance with his wife. He in tails, and she in a stunning dress.

"Pain Don't Hurt" RIP Patrick.

He was great in the chick flicks. Not so great in action movies.

I don't think I've seen it straight thru in one sitting , but I've seen it enough times in bits and pieces to recomend sitting thru it. The movie deserves every accolade it has gotten.

Not to necro this thread, but this is how most Arabian horse lovers (as I am) will remember Patrick, with his favorite stallion, "Tammen". He was very well respected in the horse community.
