shhhh...take a look at AAPL after hours

Up over $2 to $177.

Cramer says that it is going to go up up and away. I think that this man is so full of his own feces that he thinks it tastes good. He is right that it is going to go up though, but probably not as much or as fast as he says it will. He is basing this on the accounting change that Apple is lobbying for to allow them to dodge subscription based accounting for iPhones.

$225 is next target....

That said, IBM creeped with it - so they are a virtual market-cap tie at $156 billion. (Dell is at $30 billion even though their sales are twice that!)

BTW ----

Take a look at THIS tidbit...... I just updated it right now -- manually, cause Wolfie couldn't manage
all the variables.

"Large Caps includes only publicly trade U.S. Companies. Foreign companies and private
companies are not listed. Market Capitalization is in millions of dollars
(e.g., Exxon Mobil = $334 billion)"

COMPANY TICKER MKT CAP
Exxon Mobil XOM $336,982
Microsoft MSFT $219,915
Wal-Mart Stores WMT $199,234
JPMorgan Chase JPM $168,786
Johnson & Johnson JNJ $166,148
Procter & Gamble PG $160,636
AT&T Inc. T $157.539
Apple Inc. AAPL $156,934
Int'l Business Mach. IBM $156,453
Berkshire Hathaway BRK.A $155,788

A virtual TIE for spot number 6 (or 7, if you prefer) in the nation! These are among the world's
monoliths! Can you believe this from just a few years ago?!? And if it hits target???

Target of $225 = in excess of $200 billion!

General Electric GE $149,626
Google Inc. GOOG $147,127
Chevron CVX $141,750
Wells Fargo WFC $127,535
Cisco Systems CSCO $126,893
Coca-Cola KO $113,694
Pfizer Inc. PFE $113,453
Intel INTC $113,360
Oracle ORCL $110,960

Cramer is full of it but enough people listen to him that there can often be a "Cramer Effect." His spewings don't have a long term effect on a stock but it can take a nice little spike (or fall if he's negative) for a few days after his comments.

He's predicted the war between Apple and RIM correctly for some time.

does anyone else find it unbelievable that much of our economy is based on "predictions" of a handful of individuals?

one day in the future I hope we'll look at all of this in the same light as the medical practices of the medieval era.

Hurts like a bastid...

Yes. I have recently been flabbergasted by this, how everyday the market drops on fears or speculation of something that might happen or jumps because another person says everything is fine.

The stock market isn't the economy. In fact, the stock market often moves up on bad economic news and down on good economic news. For example, the market will move up in anticipation of interest rate cuts by the Fed, which often happen when the economy needs a bit of help.

As far as stocks in general, and AAPL in specific, mass psychology is an interesting phenomenon. Just go back and search this forum for when APPL was at $200 and people were patting themselves on the back for buying more of it.

That would be about the same I time I was kicking myself in the butt for not buying any prior to that date.
