Such a deal I got on a roll of carpet...

I needed a piece of cheap floor covering for my studio/workroom in the basement. It didn't need to be pretty or plush, just something to cover a multitude of sins that is the floor in that room now. The room is about 16' x 18' feet in the far corner of our unfinished basement. It has some old yellowed glued down vinyl and some vinyl tiles over that, in about half the room. The whole room had the tiles, but thanks to a small flood several years ago, about half the tiles came up.

I was open to anything cheap and easy to lay down. I didn't want to glue anything else down and I didn't want the expense of ceramic tile. I went searching for cheap goods yesterday and I finally scored at Lowes. I found a closeout indoor/outdoor 6' wide roll in a nice light gray color for, get ready, 17¢ a square foot. The 6' width was just what I wanted, both for the size of the room and for ease of transport and handling. Luckily the roll was almost exactly what I needed at 50'.

I haven't put it down yet, as I still need to finish cleaning the old floor from where I had to remove the rest of the tiles, patch a few areas, and repaint the walls, but I was very pleased with my $50 purchase.

My misread said "Such a deal I got on a roll on the carpet.."

I thought you were trying to break our hearts.

Then I reread it and thought maybe it was a mobster hit-rung that came with a free body.

I was open to anything cheap and easy to lay down.

YEAH, baby, that's me all over!

[I've *got to pay more attention to my tags than rg's "rug".
