1. iMacs Get Next-Gen Processors
The most important upgrade to iMacs is that they'll now support Intel Core i5 and i7 processors for prices starting at $1500. You can buy a Core 2 Duo for less, but...I mean...really?

this is confusing. The 3 cheaper options I see (1199, 1499 and 1699) are all with Core 2 Duo. The only i5/i7 option I see is 1999/2199

i really enjoyed this piece, i ended up following a lot of links.

jealous... yet impossible.
"Now that the base is just a flat piece of rubber, airflow seems like it could be an issue. [Ed. note: I mean, is rubber a good heatsink? It's more of an insulator, right?]"

though i would LOVE a rubberized bottom- 'lap-top' would apply again then-
if you added anything to the bottom of mine, well, i'd buy an extinguisher

They're replaceable, not really "swapable"

Why not rubber strips? Hold just as well, lift a little for ventilation...
