the phorum software is smart enough to show you there are new posts that you haven't read yet

how about highlight in light green the rows where you started the thread

highlight in light yellow the rows where you participated but you were not the OP

and of course, all these should be optional and left off by default. and you could customize the colors to match your preferences.

Great ideas-- trying to implement them but I think they must have changed the admin password on me.

....already got highlights in my hair....isn't that enough....?

There were icons to the left of the thread subject that indicated this. However, when the new version was released people didn't like it and they were removed.

(I'm pretty sure this is one of the things they indicated, but could be wrong.)

I have one forum where you can select to view only your starred threads. Any thread you start or reply to is automatically starred and you can manually star threads too.

So if you want to check on a thread, but it has rolled off the first page you can just click on "View Starred Threads".
