Mental Note To Self Re eBay

Easter Sunday evening is a bad time to end auctions. I spaced out when posting these last weekend. Both auctions ended at about 60% of expected value (ie similar items sold recently). Some people got some good deals. I got schooled.

I'm not sure I agree -- holiday Sunday evenings are usually just fine-- except I'd shoot a little later though, like 10 PM pacific/midnight-central/1 A.M.-eastern to give people time to get home and get into their "I would rather indulge in absolute senseless searching for and bidding on things I don't need than face the reality of having to go to work in the morining" mode.

I suffer from the same sensitivity that you do. A few nuggets of wisdom were shared with me and I'm "trying" to incorporate them into my life. First, remember that nobody can hurt your feelings unless you let them. You can always reject what is being forced on you emotionally.
Second, nothing changes unless you change it. If you don't want the behavior to be repeated then you need to take action. Otherwise the kid has learned that his behavior is the way to get things done, because everyone lets him get away with it.
In the meantime I sympathize because I've been there.

Spring holidays and Tax time is a bad time to end anything on eBay.
The last 2 weeks on eBay have been horrible but it happens
every year about this time. I've found out it's best to list
items at certain times of the year at a starting bid of
something you're willing to live with or you maybe
disappointed

Yeah H' and Grateful have it right. I always list things to end on Sundays during the times H' mentions. It's just that I neglected to consider the Easter and tax day factors last weekend.

No big deal. It will get these two items out of my living room. I'm more bummed that one item will not fit my flat rate first class box. Off to look for a sutiable shipping box.

I had five auctions that ended tonight and I don't really think I was burned at all. I've always thought that if you have a good item for sale and don't have it overpriced that it does not matter what time or what day the auction ends.

This is true. If you have something that is special, unique
or not a boatload of them on there and you know people out
there want it, it really doesn't matter, it's going to get
bids anyway for the most part.

On another thought I try to end more items during the weekdays
in the warm season because I feel that more people are out
and about on weekends during nice warm or hot weather.

not everyone observes or gathers for the Christian holiday of Easter. keep that in mind, too.

Really not much different from ending something on the
Christian holiday of Christmas. Why do it when the odds are
that not nearly as many will be looking. Christian holiday
or not I personally never end items on holidays.
