I like Acadie, too.

I am from south Louisiana, and the correlation of the music is amazing. I never really listened to the music of Canada, but grew up immersed in the French Acadian culture.

He is a pretty amazing producer. I love Wrecking Ball, Emmylou Harris

He's one of my favorites. I can listen to him all day, and sometimes do. "Here Is What Is" is great, also.

If you have never seen Vol 1 of "Sessions on West 54th" you should check it out.

Here is a link from it of him doing "Orange Kay"

YouTube does not do it justice [www.youtube.com]

I saw him live a few years back in a small theatre in my city and it was great, very intimate performance.

Having said that, I find he would do well to hire a good outside producer (I'm not sure if he produces his own material) as he can tend toward monotony at times.

...but I'm not sure why.

A quick look at Wikipedia doesn't help. I'm wondering if he does music for some current TV show, or maybe they used a song of his and gave him screen credit (which doesn't happen much).

Oh, well.

I'm a real fan of his. I think he contributed quite a bit to U2's success, which is saying quite a bit. I consider him more of a producer than a performer, but his own music either hits the mark, or misses. When he's brilliant, he's brilliant, but with that, you get some duds too since it's all him. kj.

I agree Kj. While I appreciate U2, especially the stuff Lanois produced, I am not the biggest fan. He has worked with a wide range of talent.

I find Lanois all around interesting, musician, producer, etc.
