my tax cd is stuck in my cd drive. the drive will try and push it out... but the cd barely moves out of the drive, and i can't reach in and grab it with anything like tweezers.

anyone know how to get it out? or do i need to get a new drive?

Have you tried restarting while holding down mouse key?

Is the door to the drive hitting something? Does the door partially open?

Here's what Apple, has to say:

To eject a disc that does not appear on the desktop:
restart the computer and hold down the mouse button, or
press the media eject button above the numeric keypad on the keyboard.

If you can see the disc on the desktop:
click the disc to select it and choose Put Away from the File menu, or
drag the disc's icon to the Trash.

Okay if all of the above does not work the CD drive should have a paper clip hole to manually eject the CD you just have to remove the plastic case to get to it. No power required or advised.

yeah, pull the inside -- you should see a metal tab on the left side of the drive to eject the disc

No, don't pull the inside. That's a good way to ruin the drive.

Only thing I can think of is to take the drive OUT of the Cube, and take the top cover off.

Good Luck!

I have the same problem on my cube from time to time.
The answer is to tip it upside-down while it's trying to eject.

I suffer from the same sensitivity that you do. A few nuggets of wisdom were shared with me and I'm "trying" to incorporate them into my life. First, remember that nobody can hurt your feelings unless you let them. You can always reject what is being forced on you emotionally.
Second, nothing changes unless you change it. If you don't want the behavior to be repeated then you need to take action. Otherwise the kid has learned that his behavior is the way to get things done, because everyone lets him get away with it.
In the meantime I sympathize because I've been there.

The reason I posted the link above was that I don't think the paperclip trick works on the Cube.

With that being said, it probably can't hurt to try.

pull inside = remove cube from case -- like you were going to add ram

you should see the metal tab then

He's not talking about a CD that won't eject-- he's talking about a CD that tries to eject but can't make it all the way out.
