Turn your MPB or MB trackpad into a drawing tablet

A new program called Inklet turns you Macbook or MBP trackpad into a Walcom style drawing tablet.

The program plus the stylus runs $40.

Here's the write-up at TUAW site with links: [www.tuaw.com]

I've seen built in tablets on some PC notebooks so if this program works it is a nice addition for the Mac.

That is pretty cool. Suffers from the same thing the Wacom suffers (except the highend LCD stuff..) - much easier to draw on the surface than draw and watch. What products like the Modbook and Cintaq do is let artists create direct whereas most that work with tablets typically sketch first and then trace since it's hard to otherwise keep it all lined up as desired. That's what makes the Modbook a rave... until you compare the difference of separate tablet vs. screen digitizer, you don't know what you're missing.

That said - while I'd doubt the pen has the sensitivity of a wacom tablet, for a lot of tablet applications where the trackpad size is fine - can't hardly beat the cost and the convenience this offers. Damn cool.

Tres cool!

I'm not ever going to buy or *need* a Wacom-type drawing tablet, but there's been many a time that I'd like to have been able to draw something on a picture or document.

This is a cost-effective answer for the limited use I'd need.

Thanks for the link, Gg.

If it was proper, I'd have sex with my Wacom....
