Counting Calories: iPod app or Bento?
Posted by: Greg

To augment my gym visits, I'd like to keep track of what I eat. Being a disciple of Steve, I'd like to do so on my iPod Touch

I figure I can cobble something together in Bento, or pick up one of the existing apps.

So, can you shed any light on whether Bento is perfect for this, meaning that I wouldn't need anything else? Or, would you say that such-and-such app is awesome, just skip everything else and go buy it.?
Thanks!

Greg

This is what I use. Don't just pay attention to your calories, keep an eye on your macros. Too many carbs and not enough protein fouls people up. Not eating enough good fats is another trap. You need 0.3 - 0.5g per pound of body weight.

Another vote for iLose

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Maybe they're talking about Lose It! ?

I just did a quick check, as I'm not using it myself. The price is right though. (Free)

Mr. Lahey: A lot of people, don’t know how to drink. They drink against the grain of the liquor. And when you drink against the grain of the liquor? You lose.

Randy: What the @#$%& are you talking about?
