Ringo my friend and companion will be missed. :( Date: February 04, 2010 06:47PM |
Ringo had a final tap to remove 110ML + of fluid around his lungs. We hoped that we could get 2-4 weeks between taps and have him around a little longer. Unfortunately, this past Sunday (1-31-2010) he started having a tough time breathing again. Monday, we made an appointment with the vet for 7:00 PM hoping the vet had some options other than tapping him again. Breathing was labored again and we went at 3:00 PM and unfortunately we had the tough decision to put him down. We stayed with him and it was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do seeing he was the first pet that I've ever had to do this for (I've had pets but my parents always had to make that tough decision). I'm glad my wife and I stayed with him. What was even tougher was going back to work to keep working on the server reload and keeping my mind on the task at hand.

Very sorry to hear it; losing a loved pet -- especially when it's a decision situation -- is difficult.

My old buddy, Bear, and his brother Al will save a warm sunny spot for Ringo.
I can't bear to look at the album... it'll make me sadder.

Know that I and your many friends on the forum are sending you "mental" hugs and sharing your sadness a bit.
It's amazing to me how each animal companion that we call "pets" develops unique behaviors that surprise us and endear them to us. It's this special uniqueness that makes it so hard to let them go, knowing it will never be replaced.
As I've said before, the best way to ease your sadness is to fall in love with a new kitty that desperately needs for you to rescue it. That's a win/win!
Looking at the pictures, it's easy to see why Ringo won your heart. I thought it was especially great that he helped you with the dishes.
