The Epson program comes with the printer... Is it worth paying for Discus?

I've been happy with the Epson program. I have Discus, but don't use it. There is a free version (at least there used to be) of Discus. Try that out first.

I have found the Discus trial version to be superior to the Epson application and to do everything needed for printing on CDs and DVDs. You can download the demo here

One thing Discus does that the Epson app didn't do when I last tried it a year ago was to allow adjustment of the hole size, very useful if you want to print on hub printable disks.

If you're just printing simple text or graphics onto ordinary inkjet DVD's and CD's then the Epson software should be fine.

If you prepare your artwork in Photoshop then the Epson software is also fine.

If you print onto odd-sized CD's or you're printing onto die-cut sticky-labels and want to start from a template or if you want tools for designing the jewel case inserts or need to incorporate diverse artwork elements from within the program then Discus may better address your needs.

I do all of my label designs in Photoshop. Epson's software is more than sufficient for my needs.

I've been pdoing my artwork in PS as well.

Oh, and mjgkramer... You can change the hole size. And outer diameter. Which I found out about on this forum... (or was it the other one...) It's an option in the File menu.
