Last year they successfully hatched and raised 3. Laid 3 eggs again this year and today, two have hatched.

Great way to waste some time and bandwidth!

Or you can check out the raptor.cam on a building in Portland Oregon. 3 chicks are doing quite well. Also needs flash. Good camera angle and fairly well-lit. [www.kgw.com]

I for one am pleased to see a return of our raptor overlords..... At least they'll deal with those d*mn flying rats (pigeons). Lotsa fat and slow pigeons around the 'hood.

Pigeons... I'm remembering the pigeons at Mizzou that lived at the library. There was a student green on front that was a fave picnic spot. The darn pigeons were so fat, I swore that they didn't flap, just hang glided down to get your sammich. And probably took the elevator back to the roof. And the squirrels ? They'd just flick their tails at you as if to say "Yo, give me the food and I don't run up your pants leg".

At least the Cleveland squirrels were scared.. I think the bums homeless people were eating them.

I have a nest of red tailed hawks way up high in a tree in my back yard. This is their second summer here. Last year I found mourning dove feathers periodically in the yard. Have only seen that once so far this year. Neighbor thinks they might be hunting snakes in a nearby stream bed.

Sure don't see many songbirds at my feeders! Squirrels don't seem to mind.

All we have is a couple of robins nesting on our porch light...

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

Red tailed hawks and cooper's hawks love suburban and urban areas. Plenty of rats, squirrels and pigeons to eat. Check out the Duke Farms Eagle cam from NJ:
