Safari 5 non-starter!?
Posted by: DeusxMac

Tried to install Safari 5 for Leopard; first with Software Update, after which it continuously crashed during launch, then via straight download and install which yields an "Install Failed. The disk ran out of space during the installation." - despite the fact that the install says Safari only requires 165 MB space and my Mac has 204 GB of space available!

What's going on?? dunno smiley

MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz with 320 GB drive, running OS 10.5.8

It is slick, smooth and fast for me. It hasn't crashed yet and uses MUCH less CPU.

You need to Safe boot then try again. Read your Mac Help in top menu bar.

I think I will just put an OUT OF ORDER
sticker on my head and call it a day.

Hey! Safari is running so normal that I had to check "about Safari" to make sure that it was actually installed.

MacPro/10.5.8 wiggle smiley …you looking for trouble, huh?

btw, what's new in this version? Nothing jumped out at me from what I read…

But, as I always say, "that's just my opinion, I could be wrong." sad smiley
