iPad case in a house with fast moving children

I need to get a case for a client where the kids are constantly knocking things over (hence falling to the floor). What is a good case for this use? Should I suggest that they just NOT get an iPad?

I think you should tell them to learn how to discipline their children so they don't behave like a herd of bulls in a china shop. If they can't do that, then, yes, suggest they get themselves a nice little cheap Windows netbook instead.

Have you ever worked for yourself? If someone wanted to hire you to answer questions, would you insult them (because of their kids) or suggest something they do not want? This client is worth $1K to $2K+ per month, btw.

They have MacBooks, iMacs, iPods and iPhones and want an iPad, yet the kids are just FAST.

Any suggestions, rather than insulting a client?

Keep selling them iPads as they break them? Put a standard rubber case over them. Not much else you can do.

why do they need so much tech support anyway? sound like a lot for a family running only Mac OS and iPhone OS.

The Apple case that I have seems like it would protect the iPad as well as any I have seen, but I haven't done any drop testing myself. The only drawback to the Apple case is that it doesn't have a latch that holds the front closed, so I guess it could open on the way to the ground. Other than that, it seems like it would do the job. They could always put a rubber band around it, if they wanted to make sure it would not open in a fall. The other good thing about the Apple case is that it is not slick. The case is made of a material that would make it rather hard to slide off any surface, so that should also be a big plus.

The Otterbox cases should be out any day now.

It is not that they need it at their house, I work for them at their businesses. One of them runs a startup of 10 people and the other runs a non-profit, both of which have no IT support on staff, which is where I come in. My clients (now*) all pay on time and keep calling me back so I am not only grateful to keep them, I go the extra mile for all of their requests.

*I say now because last November, I fired two clients who would pressure me for getting things done quickly and quibbling over each line of my invoices. Every month. After explaining that this is not how I work with my clients, they complained that I was being unethical for billing at my agreed upon rate (for work I was asked to do, by them). I am happier for it.
