Needed a clock for my desk and what I really wanted was a small monitor with widgets. Looked at buying an ePad (very poor chinese knockoff that runs android), Mimo monitor [www.mimomonitors.com] , Chumby [www.chumby.com] , Insignia Infocast (fugly large screen chumby at Best Buy ) [news.cnet.com] , and the Sony Dash.

Got the Dash and love it. It is wonderfully designed, very attractive, and runs all the chumby apps but in a smaller window so the Dash always shows the time and weather. It has Pandora, Netflix, and a few dozen other video and audio apps as well. It isn't cheap, but it is exactly what I wanted and it works wonderfully.

Excellent choice! Have fun with it and enjoy the awesomeness its experience will provide you for a long time to come. Sharp, sharp they are.

I always thought these kinds of things would have caught on better than they seem to have. The iPad reminds me of what these devices could have been (only more "realized" of course.)

Nice intro product.

Someone is going to make one running android os plus a battery and smoke Sony tho.

For $199 it sure is appealing.
