I'll take (and I did!) the NewerTech / OWC product with auto-fan thermal protection
(for the HD) and the side mounted USB/FW (in addition to the rear) any day.

You can't hear its fan, and in that small space, I have a feeling that with a 7200 rpm
HD, that fan will be the difference between life and death of the drive, long term.

sabernet one is fanless. hmm

also has 2 FW ports on back and only one USB 2 -- so no hub feature like the others on the market...

Poo, you're Newertech is silent? I must have a really bad one, it's LOUD. Much louder then my G5 iMac with fans running full tilt.

And Steve, I got a major slap on the wrist for trying to compare this to the MiniStack a couple weeks ago smiling smiley

I'm not comparing it, I'm contrasting it. 40 vs 80 is all.

I am not in the market for either. Just noting it.
