I thought I would come here and everyone would be talking about this... is it taboo? Am I the only one thinking about this? (can't be..)

Old news. Discussed quite a bit at the "other" forum.

the truth and media hype is still coming out. Many of us wait until the BS dies down and the reality comes out before drawing strong opinions.

And those who tend to shoot from the hip with a 5 gage shotgun don't seem to be posting much any more.

My feeling is that there have no doubt been tragedies like this since man first began participating in combat. It's just that in the modern day we are more likely to hear about them.

Having never been in combat in such terrible circumstances, I would prefer not to pass judgement on the people who have. Legal judgement is appropriate, but not mine.

Where are the posts of outrage about Haditha?

They are being witheld along with the truth.

Wait a few more days as more "facts" come out.

Nasty s••t happens all the time during war. Does that make it right? Of course not. But we need facts not hearsay. If the soldiers committed the crime, they will do the time... But, where's the outrage over the murders of the school kids on their way to take exams? The Sunnis were released, the Shia and Kurds were executed. Where's the outrage there? Where's the outrage over the Darfur situation that's STILL going on? If there were a ever a good case for sending 2000 Airborne to protect the food and supply shipments AND keep the janjaweed away... The list goes on and on.

Darfur is not so simple, either.
The locals are playing chess. We, UN, are just some of the pawns ....

I don't believe that.

Yes, but see we're obligated to step back and weigh if we choose to kill. We no longer do that.

Nowadays we act on Executive whim, which from as far as I can see isn't a whole lot different than Royal decree.
