Just getting this out of the way, in anticipation of someone 'breaking' the story a day from now...

FOX didn't invent that "He doesn't have time for Netanyahu but he has time for a pirate" nonsense. I follow @BarackObama and that sh#%t started up almost as soon as the tweet went out.

I guess the right has zero sense of humor.

Wow, that is one seriously in tune President !

First he goes on Reddit.

Now he's participating in "Talk like a Pirate Day".

Can we expect a video featuring the President dancing "Gangam Style ?"

AWESOME !!!

No, seriously, I DO think it's a good thing for a President to connect with all citizens. Even the ADHD amusement junkies that make up the denizens of the interwebs. We all like to vote for someone we think is 'like us' and 'understands us'. President Obama gets that. His opponent ? Not so much.

Seriously, can you find a more self-made, government-independent, boot-strappy entrepreneur than a pirate?

Have they no shame!

Is it my imagination, or is Fox News getting worse by the day. They'd better watch out, if they get too outrageous even some of their fans will start to realize that everything they air is fiction.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I seriously doubt it. They roll out out sorts of "news" that a select few in this forum (and an un-named member that was tossed out) believe to be reality and that other "news" that presents things in a different light is somehow skewing to the left. The consumers of Fox and other right-wing media information sources are wanting to hear a world view that reflects their opinions and Fox and the others happily shovel it to them.

I was listening to Ted Koppel and he said it right: the more inflammatory you are in the media, the more that people will pay attention. Fox commentators (they are not "news" folks) will say whatever nonsense they need to boost ratings, no other reason.
