Living in a state with no early voting, except "justified" absentee ballot, I have mixed feelings about the issue. I think I lean toward the Father Knows Best era of people going to the polls on Tuesday in November, unless they're really required to be awy from their local polling place.

That's just $.02 I understand the opposing viewpoints.

That would be alright, if election day were a national holiday.

Indeed. If it were mine to dictate I'd kill two birds with one stone and make Election Day be February 29th, and make it a national quadrennial holiday.

It's hard to not recall the vast discrepancy between exit polls and actual vote totals reported in the battleground state of Ohio a few years ago. Pre-election poll reporting serves little purpose aside from fodder for campaigns to either exhalt or deride.

Make Election Day a National Holiday, every Sept 11!
