Why doesn't God smite Pat Robertson?

Does Pat Robertson have this direct line to his maker?
I doubt it.
I think he got the message garbled! And he should be ducking...

I think God gave up on the human race a long time ago.

We're all on our own out here now.

Mind where you step...

I meant to post something about that idiot.

fails the bar exam 3x, then goes back to school for a Divinity degree. We'd have been better off with him as an ambulance chaser.

Robertson has got to keep his mouth shut for the sake of all Christians.

Wanna' feel low? The only time I ran for public office, I lost to a woman who'd failed the state bar 12 times.

Proof I'll never be suicidal.

He is playing into the hands of the liberals.

Notice you never see or hear Billy Graham saying

anything like this. Class shows.

Robertson is the poster boy of all the negative steoeotypes the mainstream media attempts to paint all
Christians with. It really bites when some leftie liberal trash can say, "Robertson said this..."

He makes you ashamed to be a right-wing crackpot, Shakeman, but he makes me ashamed to be an American, and taking it one step farther, even ashamed (or at least embarassed) to be human.

Personally, I don't believe that God is actively doing any direct smiting at present, I am pretty convinvced that he is in the business of letting us deal with the consequences of our own choices as a learning and growing experience. He built the great puzzle, it is up to us to do our part to solve it. Robertson appears to be more a part of the problem than a part of the solution, from this viewpoint.

Because God enjoys sick humor, too.

I'm still waiting for an Al Qaeda news release praising Robertson for acknowledging that Islamist assassins do God's work.

It really bites when some righty conservative trash can say, "Clinton said this..."

It really bites when some righty conservative trash can say, "Ted Kennedy said this..."

It really bites when some righty conservative trash can say, "John Kerry said this..."

You think you are any better because you are in the trash heap on the right? You use the same tactics as the morons on the left. So no matter which side you are on, you are still a moron.

Pat Robertson is just a rich, cranky old white guy who has nothing to lose by saying things so over the top they get him media attention.

That's all he wants at this point.

Over the top can be funny (i.e. George Carlin's OJ Simpson joke) or just plain stupid (think of your own example here).

God is not to be blamed for those who misuse his name for their own selfish purposes in any country, anywhere. Not his gig to swat everyone who says something stupid. Would instantly take care of places where overpopulation has become a problem, though.

Humanity in general is pretty selfish and self-destructive.

here here! The opposite of dysfunctional is still dysfunctional.

as far as guitarman's comment, VATO, he has, I believe, over 1 million viewers whenever he's on....which, at one point, was about the same as the average prime-time audience for CNN...

who's the jackass?

because ... ((news flash)) ... THERE IS NO GOD!

fairy tales make people feel good and make others rich, so on and on they go.

or ... if there IS a GOD, then he sure had some fun with those miners' families, huh? "PSYCHE!"

The reason is that none of it really happened. God created the Universe and everything in it at 03:12:44 GMT this morning. He just planted memories, artifacts, and so forth to make it look like the Universe had been around for much longer -- at least to the Hell-destined unbelievers who would rather believe "evidence" and "reason" (those tools of Satan) instead of God's Revealed Word, which I present here for your salvation.

I'm with incognegro on this one. Or there just isn't a God as 99.999+% of morons on this planet conceive of it, and definitely not some being that would intervene on an individual level. I mean if no intervention on the holocaust, slavery, etc, why on anything else?

While my willingness to survive in this mad world hinges on my belief in something beyond it, and an accounting for my use of oxygen in this reality, the ability of men such as Robertson, Graham et fils, & Bush to call themselves "Christian" gives me reason to doubt. At the same time the existence of such men disproves theories of both "Intelligent Design" and evolution.
