Beef and Chicken setups in South America, processing plants in MEXICO! to ship to USA and in our grocery stores. Where will this "outsourcing" end? after the USA is nothing but hamburger munchers and consumers manufacturing nothing.

After all the jobs we give Mexico we still bend over and say "put it there".

I think most of their employees in the US were illegal immigrants anyway.

Wow Suzanne, welcome to the last century. Good to see you finally have this interweb thing fingered out. From what I remember, McDonalds has been using beef from Brazil for almost 20 years. You know that Apple is making computers in China, right?

Sorry, there are times I should wait on hitting post. As Lux referenced, one aspect of the story was highlighted recently when a Crider poultry plant was raided by INS and something like a third of the line staff was illegal aliens.

Muffin man....I probably keep up on news more than the average bear. I know that we our outsourcing and have been but this is a whole new news story that was outlined on the radio today because of the new and accelerated plant building and international agreements.

Why would a country built on manufacturing/creating goods and services want to continue down such a path?

It is much better to pay others abroad pennies a day than to have to pay our folks dollars a day instead.

Welfare for those who used to get minimum wage or less is a better deal anyways for everyone.

Besides, that sucking sound has been muffled so as not to really bother anyone.

Fast Food Nation is a pretty engaging read if you want to know what has become of the US beef and chicken industry. And yeah, it is illegal immigrants who by and large work in the plants and slaughterhouses.
