Just turned to it a few minutes ago. Not much depth. By and large these are intelligent people Wassup with Tulsi? Reminds me of the Pirates, Reds brawl. DeBlasio has a big mouth. What's that little gesture you make with your fingers to describe a lot of money? Biden keeps doing that after everybody talks about their medical plan.

This is the Torpedo Biden edition of the debates. Harris is banging the Biden-as-friend-of-the-racist drum again. Gabbard is ‘let’s look at everybody’s record then’ counterpunching though. They’re gunning for Biden. He survived last time, we’ll see how he fares this round.

I do like the "anybody on this stage would be better than Trump" line that many of them are saying. We need this.

Booker is the most polished. I know he's sincere but he sounds like he's acting a part. Always trying to justify his cred.

There are only 3 contenders, the rest are justifying the money sunk into them and looking toward the next go round.

We're really not. That's a political scare-tactic. It's not based on fact.

Violent crimes, in particular, while up a bit under Drumpf, are way down overall in recent decades.

Peak for most was 1970s, with some cities continuing to trend upward into the late 1980s and even to 1990, but by mid-1990s, it was all trending downward and in most cities violent crime is way way way down.

Drumpf ran on a bunch of lies about the murder rates in Chicago and other cities. He made up fake numbers. There was a modest bump year-over-year between 2014-2015 in Chicago, but nowhere near the 5,000 murders he claimed and it looks like a small bump when you graph it.

I'd google for the graphs for you, but honestly, if you don't already know that you've been fed a bunch of lies about violence by politicians trying to scare you into voting their way and news organizations going after ratings and ad-revenue then there's not much I can do to convince you otherwise and it's not worth my effort.

Chicago's a good example because of the lax gun laws less than an hour away across the state line. Conservatives will no doubt use the Gilroy, CA killings similarly to "show" how gun laws "don't work."

He was about the only one who brought some hope and joy into that thing, which I appreciated because it was pretty dark and dry otherwise. That's to be expected because we're in dark times but I want that positive, reassuring message. Eventually the person who takes up this mantle is going to have to achieve that.

Very little to see except that NONE of them is really likely to ignite a crowd like the Orange Man…
