...and Chinese exports dropped only 3% overall in August. Is that overwhelming pressure on the Chinese?

Yeah, but Chinese growth has slowed.

Yup, to only 6.2%, or roughly triple that of our own slowing economy, if we're lucky.

This administration and their toadies have been furiously playing up to anyone who will listen the damage the Chinese economy has taken, but by nearly any measure, we're being hit as badly or worse.

This is a decent article explaining why this trade war is neither good nor easy to win - in fact, it's basically impossible to win. It just raises havoc in the economy of us, them, and the world, and has, at best, contradictory goals.

I'm guessing that Trump will eventually have to cave and declare victory, which only his gullible base will believe.

Or he will double down. Yet again.

As long as the farmers have ready access to the US Treasury, Pres. Trump will be fine.
