I'd like to see an example. I've never heard of limiting an eligible candidate that hit all of the marks before.

I'd like to see an example. I've never heard of limiting an eligible candidate that hit all of the marks before.
It seems wrong, but it's perfectly legal. State parties are allowed to say who they want (and don't want) on the ballot to represent them.
SC, AZ, NV and KS so far have all decided not to have GOP primaries in order to foil Trump's rivals. So Mark Sanford can't even compete in his own state.
Minnesota will allow write-ins though and I guarantee a lot of Minnesotans will write-in someone other than Trump. He is very unpopular there.
