Officers in several departments around the country have begun resigning from special units and from departments entirely in Protest of calls for change and officers being held to account for their actions.

Is this rats fleeing the ship, some of the worst going to ground but only until the heat dies down, or an attempt to apply just enough pain by way of shortage to gain leverage as changes are negotiated? One police union official has already cast these resignations as a warning regarding repercussions for ‘appeasing “rioters” by “bowing down”’. It will be interesting to see.

In the same report, CNN disclosed that they have obtained audio of a 911 dispatcher working at the time of the George Floyd murder. They say the dispatcher apparently had access to bodycam or police vehicle video of a real time nature, or close to it, and was so concerned about the treatment of Floyd, that she wanted to make sure supervisors were aware of the situation.

That supervisor might be in some trouble, he minimized the dispatcher's concerns and it's not clear if he went to the scene, which is required when force is used.

NYC has eliminated it's undercover detective unit, PBA is not pleased.

It's unsurprising that a group who have been told to not put up with citizen resistance be butthurt enough to pout. If they're not capable of any self reflection, they need to be shown the door and with speed.
