Sixth Sense was a great movie, the first time. Like most all of M. Night Shyamalan's movies, you can't really watch it again.

As a humor writer, you are always faced with the question of whether you wrote it wrong or if your audience was too dumb to get it.
It's one of the hazards.

I feel like a more effective use of the Sixth Sense frame would be on that shot of the hallway in Georgia with the kids back in high school, (mostly) not wearing masks and obviously not socially distancing. True, many of them might not die, but ... the ones who do, it sure as heck won't be pretty. I know that's probably morbid and grotesque of me to say, but it seems that's the only thing that'll get through to some people at this point.

1) easy to scan.limited number of factors in photo. Pleasure in recognizing clear topical joke
2) widely known gag, no specialized knowledge of a non-iconic scene from one particular movie
3) so maybe it was the writing, not the audience
