No, he shouldn’t have because the president would have shut down the interviews. Also, it would have made little difference because the president was going to do just what he has done to date. I’m just glad it was all on tape.

This is like the guy who stands there quietly shooting video while a white cop stands on a black man's neck, escalating a bogus traffic stop from minor moving violation to murder.

Yes, the guy shooting the video should have tried to stop the cop from committing a violent racist murder, but ultimately we can probably all agree that the cop had a higher obligation -- both morally and as part of his job -- not to be a racist murderer. And at least it was documented so the cop *might* face some public scrutiny for his crime.

The best you could say is that an early release of the interview and back-up tapes might have had an effect of the trajectory of Trump's actions.

He released these about 5-6 weeks too early. I would have dropped the bomb 2 weeks before elections.
