We've all been worried about Trump disputing the election. However, in the increasingly likely event that he is defeated overwhelmingly, I'm worried about what he might do during his 2.5 month long lame duck period. He's like a bull in a China shop and doesn't give a rat's ass about the country, the people, or any institutions. Will he just quit and go golfing (best scenario), go on a rapage of destructive executive orders, fight to seat Barrett (if she's not already in), or rile up his base to armed insurrection, or what?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

He will not recognize it - illegal votes, etc

He is going to fight it in the courts all the way, regardless of outcome.

I think he'll huff and puff and cry fowl but the rest of the country will move on and start looking forward to a new day with Biden/Harris. Mango Mussolini will continue his usual routine of mostly playing golf and occasionally going on Fox and Twitter for a grievance tour.

The Barrett nomination is a wild card now due to the Republican COVID cluster but I'm sure Graham/Mcconnell will do everything they can to get that done, regardless of what Trump is doing.

I also think he'll be spending a good bit of time with lawyers because his family's legal troubles from the state of New York are going to land like a ton of bricks.

This is exactly what he'll be doing. Anything he Executive Orders in haste will be subject to the courts he's currently trying to pack. He can't out lawyer governments like he can contractors etc. Most of the big bad guys go to prison over being guilty of stuff like mail fraud and tax evasion. He's stepped on so many toes in his life, I can't imagine much sympathy for him. MAGA didn't show up for his inauguration, or even these recent rallies, why would they defend him beyond his shelf limit?

He will try to transfer as much of the US Treasury as possible to himself, the Trump organization and his friends. Expect the room rates for Secret Service to go up substantially.

He'll fight the result until the clock runs out, throwing the kitchen sink at the courts and social media about the election.
The only real Presidenting he can get to stick is to submit the Wyoming phone book to the Senate to fill all remaining judgeships.

Right now there is a good chance that Florida will go to Biden along with Arizona, and Pennsylvania is way ahead for Biden so there won't be a huge amount of question about it. The net result is that the majority of the country will gradually accept a substantial Biden victory of at least 330 electoral votes, and they will do so within two or three days of November 3. There is about an equal chance that Biden's victory will be obvious on election night if Florida is called along with Arizona.

With so much mail-in balloting, I wonder if it's even possible to do significant exit polling.

He is not at all a "political animal," so I don't expect him to do things that will not advantage him or his family in some way. But, he will absolutely attempt to do things that advantage his family in some way!

Unless, of course, Stephen Miller slips into Drumpf's skin and takes over his corporeal largesse. And then all bets are off.

An excellent point. I wish that I didn't get so many spam calls, otherwise I might be more likely to answer a brief phone poll for this.

If Biden wins with 50%+ of the vote, then Trump will, as Acer says, still "throw the kitchen sink" at the federal courts and court of public opinion, but he'll still lose.

And then the Republican Party should have a reckoning with the white nationalists in their midst, but they won't. Instead, they will coalesce around the goal of stopping president Biden from doing much of anything. That's what the cynical side of me thinks. But maybe they'll show me to be wrong.

Again, that's all on the assumption that Biden wins. If he loses and Trump wins, I hope I could then work past the paralysis of the shock and on to active resistance to the awful things he would do.

He, along with the Senate will do everything possible to mess up the country in ways that will make the Democrats look bad when they can't fix it in a week.

I'm thinking that after torching the country he might just torch the White House on the way out the door.

That's long gone. The machines spit out the numbers very quickly at the end of the night, which are transferred via text and photos to candidates in district and state races, which are in turn copied and pasted to reporters and news outlets.

The wildcard this year is how the absentee ballots are tabulated, and whether they will change the in person vote.

B, because he doesn't have the ballz to actually lead an armed insurrection; his bone spurs would flare up!

He's got nukes and hasn't had a chance to try them out. Hopefully some sanity checks will prevent him from targeting an American city, but he could try Greenland, and the North and South poles. Just to show how smart he is and that Global Warming is a hoax.

Near the end of the Nixon administration, the military leaders quietly put out orders that any launch command was to be delayed until a concurring order was placed by the military leadership.

Nixon was deeply depressed and there was fear that he might do something self-destructive to the nation. I could see the same thing being done with this administration, though we may never know.

I have a feeling those orders were quietly put out in Feb of 2017....
