While it's damn clear to the most casual observer (with an open mind) that this is entirely a lying piece of agit-prop, I briefly hearkened back to the days when I purchased a Mac Pro at a used computer shop. For $10. And it contained confidential executive search information about a then Republican presidential candidate. From the executive search company that helped get the person a CEO job some years earlier.

The person who largely wrote the story for the Post wouldn’t put his name to it due to “credibility concerns”.

The person who was put on the byline is a former Hannity producer and Bannon acolyte (and another person who “had little to do with the reporting or writing of the article” whose name may have been used without her knowledge).

Rudy first brought the story to Fox News, but they wouldn’t touch the story, also over “credibility concerns”. (Gee, ya think?)

Embedded metadata shows the purported email was edited in Photoshop for 4 hours before it was saved.

And certain features suggest it couldn’t have come from Hunter’s laptop.

This is merely a case of the Murdoch family corporation handing it over to a tabloid arm of the Murdoch family corporation, thus freeing FOX to spread it all over their network as "news" without having to take the blame when the facts come out. So yeah, they knew it was BS but they fixed it so they could "report" it anyhow.
