I’d say he took another fall but the hand bruising is pretty bad. Not sure why a fall would do that.

PS - can you imagine if Biden showed up looking like this? Faux News (and the Orange Menace) would be blaring it nonstop, demanding that Biden “come clean” about his obviously disqualifying health crisis.

That looks bad. And I don't ever wish death or disease or incapacity upon anyone, nor mock someone's appearances due to ill health. But I wouldn't mind if he had to step aside to deal with his healing

I can picture him walking along the halls with his hands in his suit pockets. I wonder how long he's had this. I've also a seen a video of him falling. That his hands and face are affected makes me think a fall. I've seen my mom look that bad after a minor fall.

He had bypass heart surgery in 2003 so I'm sure he is on blood thinners. And he's 78 so his skin is probably more delicate and he probably bruises easier even accounting for blood thinners. Although that left hand looks like there was in IV placement judging by where the bandaid is. My guess is he has either fallen and refuses to admit it, or had to have some procedure and refuses to admit it.

My favorite remark was a friend of a friend who joked that Mitch was in a bar fight.

To me, it looks fairly obvious that he's received some sort of treatment. That he refuses to say or admit what it was, is unsurprising but disturbing nonetheless... he could have had corona, been contagious, received treatment, and not mentioned it to anyone -- think about the consequences if he were to admit that he'd caught it in the WH.

When I first saw the photos, my involuntary reaction was to feel sympathy. Then I remember this is Mitch McConnell, who has not acted enough like a human being to deserve sympathy. He doesn't deserve anything but the ill will he has himself sown.

I don't want anyone to suffer. I just want him to not be an active politician anymore. His actions have been amorally set on maximizing his power to do the bidding of rich people and religious conservatives. In his pursuit of those things he has acted the opposite of having integrity and needed to have much more care for basic fairness to Democrats; e.g., letting Garland get a vote to become a justice on the Supreme Court. Figuratively, he is a superspreader of an infection in the heart of democracy. I don't want him to suffer. I just want him to step away from politics.
