Boris Johnson proposes Green New Deal

...except, being a UK homeboy, he calls it “Green Industrial Revolution”:

Quote

Johnson...announced a 10-point plan via news release and social media. The most eye-catching proposal, arguably, was a ban on new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, five years ahead of schedule... he hopes [all this] will create a quarter of a million jobs and help Britain to drive its carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.

Boris is, of course, the current leader of the mainline British conservative party, which nevertheless still engages voters through xenophobia and isolationism (ala Brexit).

My point is that all this BS about the Democratic party being taken over by wild-eyed leftists is gaslighting, pure and simple. It’s akin to politicians circa 1900 railing against radical new ideas like automobiles and aeroplanes.

The UK has as bad a dependence on oil company profits as the US, but they have even fewer raw materials for LiON batteries than the US.
