Barr?

I have a feeling that Barr would have been willing to go pretty far in invoking the DOJ power toward helping elect Trump if the vote had been close enough in one state to swing the election. Barr put out a kind of enigmatic message to the federal U.S. Attorney's offices to look for vote fraud but not pursue things that didn't have any legal merit. I don't know what his intent was with that message but he has seemed to lay pretty low ever since.

What's he up to?

I've been wondering if someone sat him down and explained the difference between helping Trump and going to jail for Trump.

Since he was at the Trump superspreader event, I was starting to wonder if he got very sick. However, I think he was out in public far enough past the event that Covid wasn't responsible for his silence.

He's just trying to wait out this king so that he can be a servile antidemocratic toady to the next king he likes. It's a pattern with him.

I think you're right, Ted - if he could have used his power to get his boss reelected, he would have. But he figured out pretty quick that wasn't going to happen.

Between Barr, Pompeo and Trump, the entire membership of The Thousand Pound Club should be jailed for treason.

What's he up to?

He and Trumpo's other appointees will be busy at the paper shredders destroying evidence the next few weeks,

That's against the law. They are the champions of law and order. They wouldn't do that. (Would they?)

He's been laying low since the Supreme Court super spreader event. He went into quarantine a week after the event and was supposed to be back in public in a couple of days. But he has been very quiet and out of the limelight ever since. He was seen talking to Trump supporters protesting outside of his home. But still, unusually out of sight.

He's wise to separate himself from this mess. Though the damage has been done by him is palpable, there is - in his own mind - probably still a place for him in the legal community once this all blows over in January.

He was apparently in Chicago last week for unknown reasons.

The nature of Barr’s visit remains unclear, and a representative for the Department of Justice declined to comment on the attorney general’s trip. A representative for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago said Barr did not meet with anyone from the local federal prosecutors’ office.

Lightfoot was made aware of Barr’s trip during her weekly conference call with CPD leadership. Near the conclusion of the call, one officer noted some members of the department were monitoring for potential protests the next day, sources said. It was then that the officer disclosed to Lightfoot and CPD leadership that Barr would be in Chicago.
