So sad.

Like so many other famous authors of fiction, she really misunderstands that most go there to AVOID the reality fights of the kind she's engaging in.

Yes, also happened to Orson Scott Card and Michael Crighton.

These are all authors of some of my favorite books, but these authors ALL championed a range of different political issues that are deeply offensive to me.

None will get any more of my $$, though each won't miss it.

Another Twitter casualty, had she never found that platform and the interactions it facilitates, it's likely she'd still be behind the 60 foot hedge shrouding her property and dreaming up new characters.

Victimized herself with two social media deathblows.

Confusing adoration for her every word and gesture in her fiefdom with an authoritativeness in the larger world that must also be shared, and a blind spot to the difference between punching up and punching down and the stark difference in the reception the two receive.

Sadly, Van Morrison has fallen into this well for me, after I actually heard yesterday his musical screed, “No More Lockdown”.

No more taking our freedom
And our wGod-given rights
Pretending it's for our safety
When it's really to enslave

Who's running our country?
Who's running our world?
Examine it closely
And watch it unfurl
No more lockdown
No more threats
No more Imperial College scientists makin' up crooked facts

No more lockdown
No more pulling the wool over our eyes
No more celebrities tellin' us
Tellin' us what w?'re supposed to feel

No more status quo
Put your should?r to the wind
