I wonder why our two GA senators aren’t on that list.
It would seem to be right up their alley.

They don't want to turn off swing voters that may lean towards the Democratic agenda but hate "defund the police" or whatever socialism label than can hang on Ossoff and Warnock.

There are reasons that McConnell didn't want those challenges to be joined by any Republican Senators. I think one of them is that these votes will force maybe three to five Republican senators that may be in close races for reelection in 2022 to be on record either supporting this crap or not supporting it. It's lose-lose for them. If they support it, then their Democratic challengers can use it against them in 2022; if they don't support it, any Republican primary challenger can use it against them. In a couple of years this will probably fade from memory of swing/centrist voters that will probably determine most of those close senate races next year, but it may still be relevant enough because the races are so close that it could make a difference. I think Mitch just doesn't want to take the risk no matter how small when it won't change the final outcome.

the GA elections are on the 5th, results probably won't be ready by the 6th. So who is goin to represent GA on the 6th? do the old senators keep their positions by default until the results of the run-off election are certified?

I haven't seen much of Kennedy but what I've seen seemed to indicate that he is reasonably sharp and not a Trump zombie. Is he actually a total goofy head, or is he just bowing to the political realities of Republican politics in Louisiana?

Sen. David Perdue's term will officially expire at the end of the current Congress, which occurs Sunday. Loffler's term does not expire until the special election is certified. Therefore there will only be 99 Senators beginning Monday.

That is very interesting. I did not know exactly how that worked.

Ditto. I was wondering what would happen to Perdue's staff. It's not clear if they stay on the payroll after tomorrow, or if he has to rehire them if he wins. That's a $3M annual payroll. Maybe he'll just pay them out of pocket. Ha ha

Romney put out a statement about this. Is he the only Republican?
The egregious ploy to reject electors may enhance the political ambition of some, but dangerously threatens our Democratic Republic.
