The one saying that it was "unconstitutional" has apparently never flown commercial, entered a courthouse, toured a museum, etc.

It is not permitted to stop Congresscritters from entering the Capital so as to do the business of their chamber. There's good reason for that - I think it's generally a good idea to have our lawmakers be able to argue and vote for us as our representatives without having to face legal barriers to do so.

But, of course, Republicans have decided to abuse this right to pretend like they are rebels for not doing - as has been pointed out by others above - what they have done many times before in other settings. Much like they abused the Constitution's hedge against corruption that allows Congresspersons to challenge a state's electoral votes. They corruptly used the Constitution's hedge against corruption. Disgusting. Not going through the metal detectors is another @#$%& filled boil on the asses of these @#$%&.

Pelosi said a lawmaker who refused to abide by the new safety protocols would incur a $5,000 fine for the first offense and a $10,000 fine for the second offense. The fines will be deducted directly from lawmakers’ salaries, she noted.
