CDC chief warns of 'potential fourth surge'...

Rochelle Walensky, the director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), warned on Monday that a recent increase in coronavirus cases indicated a “fourth surge” could occur before a majority of the US is vaccinated.

“At this level of cases, with variants spreading, we stand to completely lose the hard-earned ground we have gained,” Walensky said, during a White House briefing.

“Now is not the time to relax the critical safeguards that we know can stop the spread of Covid-19 in our communities, not when we are so close. We have the ability to stop a potential fourth surge of cases in this country.”...

Remember the surge this past July? We are at that same level right now before some of these idiotic changes take effect.

Texas is all about opening up businesses and letting them take the hit for super-spreader events. Meanwhile, they wait for federal dollars to bail out their electricity-rates victims.

Adding to rjmacs point, last nite on Chris the head of the Texas Democrats pointed out that this comes just in time for the Spring Break season on South Padre...and thousands of kids will be visiting to party.

And then to return home with a little something.

Yikes.

We are so close.

Hopefully the count of Spring Breakers will be down, many schools have cancelled the break from their schedules. But not all schools have done so.

At SDSU, Spring Break week just became 5 randomly placed Rest and Recovery Days (#2 is coming up next Monday).

So students still get a week's worth of Spring Break, it's just one day at a time now - randomly sprinkled throughout the semester. Guaranteed to cut down on SB behavior. LOL since >80% of students aren't even on campus this semester.
