Event: Spring Break 2021

U.S. citizens should reconsider Spring Break and other non-essential travel to Mexico due to COVID-19. Cases and hospitalizations remain high in most of Mexico. Consular services, like appointments for emergency passports, are limited in many locations due to the pandemic. Land border crossings are restricted to essential travel until at least March 21, 2021. For those returning to the United States by air, there is a requirement to present a negative COVID-19 viral test (antigen or PCR) performed no more than 3 days before their flight departs or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight. Air passengers will also be required to confirm that the information they present is true in the form of an attestation.
