Was supposed to be eligible Thursday in Mass., with the grocery worker group. However we were pushed back to make it easier for teachers to get a vaccine sooner, as Gov Baker is mandating schools be open in April, depending on grade. So, my wife has her first shot lined up for Friday, with shot number 2 lined for April 9th.

Came this close to getting an appointment late this afternoon, but by the time I finished checked off the necessary boxes, and hitting the "continue" button, they were all gone. Sure glad I'm not in a big hurry.

I could be eligible for the J&J by some readings because my non-profit offers education services, but it seems they are only being offered through school districts. Perhaps at some point our connection will be remembered by someone in a district.

Or, just wait in line with the rest of the unwashed Level 2 masses.

I got the text reminder from CVS for number 2 today. It insisted on me giving an answer to the following question:

If you are a woman, are you pregnant? Yes. No. Don't Know

I left it blank (seemed the logical thing to do) but it kept kicking it back until I answered. I am now officially not pregnant.

Today was two weeks after my second Pfizer shot so I guess I am as safe as I am going to be.

Yeah, it is a relief to have it.

Wow, it's nice to be in a class by myself, that's currently 3%. grinning smiley

I'm kinda surprised that so many here have already gotten two shots of a Pfizer or Moderna -- is MRF full of older, at-risk folks?

Yep, I figured there might some MRFers who are essential workers, but not THAT many, to justify the poll results above...

Haven't yet but will ASAP.
I'm in an at-risk group, but whenever I go through the steps to register, I get kicked out because I'm neither 65 nor a teacher/health care worker. sad smiley

I got mine through work, but I just got (literally 5 minutes ago) an "invitation" to make an appointment to get the shot through Vaccinate Virginia.

Walgreen's called to cancel my shot. (See my thread).

It's hard to imagine I would find somewhere more incompetent and greedy than CVS to do business with. Walgreens just did it.

AVOID WALGREEN'S AT ALL COSTS!

Yes, at a distant location. And what guarantee do I have they won't screw it up a THIRD time?

They are incapable of maintaining a reliable web site nor having control over their doses. That says...STAY AWAY to me.

I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow. I'm prepared to be disappointed again.

So they're going to jab you with a faucet? That's gonna hurt!

I haven't heard peep one from any of the places where I am signed up. And aggravatingly, Johns Hopkins Hospital where my primary care physician is, has been running it as a lottery. And two of my friends, who only see that physician BECAUSE I RECOMMENDED HER, got their names pulled out of the hat but I am still waiting. Feels so unfair somehow. I know, I know, random means random but God has a weird sense of humor.

Yes, we got notifications yesterday, too, for the Danville JCPenney location. (?) That's nearly two hours away so we're reluctant to schedule. We hate to pass it up, but sure don't want to drive so far--twice--to get vaccinated. We're thinking that we'll hold off a little longer to see if we can get an appointment closer to home. Things seem to be opening up.

got the shot today, but only because, instead of relying on their screwed up computer network, the pharmacist called 10 stores.
Travel on not-frequent buses in very chilly weather (feels like 11° before the 20mph wind gusts all the way up to 40mph).

Reading the forum member experience in another thread, Walgreens has still not cleared up the scheduling on their site.

Avoid Walgreens.

I got an appointment for Wednesday for my first shot!!!

I sent my doctor an irate email about how I felt that the hospital had forgotten about me. Yesterday I got a boring canned response from a nurse full of boilerplate blah blah blah about vaccines that was obviously a form letter. But today I got a notification to go to the web site and choose my time for my vaccine on Wednesday. Coincidence? I guess I'll never know.

According to data from the CDC, Massachusetts ranks first in the country in total vaccine doses administered among states with a population of five million people or more. Nationwide, Massachusetts ranks ninth in overall doses administered.

I guess we're doing pretty well at actually administering the shots. The problem is in getting an appointment. I've been refreshing the CVS website and the Commonwealth's website regularly and am consistently greeted with some version of "Sorry. Nothing available". Like I said, I'm glad in not in a hurry.

Today I got an email from the county health department saying I could schedule an appointment because "we are currently vaccinating individuals in your priority group."

I believe they have been vaccinating my priority group for no less than two months. This is also a month after I got Covid and just under a week after I happened to get my first of two Moderna shots at my doctor's office when I was there for a checkup. So thanks a lot for nothing.
